How to use CBD flowers?

CBD flowers are among the most popular hemp-derived products. And for good reason, new consumers and fine connoisseurs love this authentic product and this raw form of cannabis. Available in many varieties and rich in CBD, the flowers come directly from the plant and do not undergo any transformation. We find there the perfume and the characteristic aromas of a floral top, more commonly called a head in popular slang.

On the other hand, the consumption of CBD flowers is still debated. Indeed, it is forbidden to smoke them in France and in most European countries. It is then necessary to find legal alternatives in order to take advantage of the multiple virtues of CBD. In addition to being respectful of the laws in force, these alternatives are much healthier for the body. So why not take advantage of it?

Smoking CBD flowers, why is it prohibited?

Santé

When you think of CBD flowers or buds, the first means of consumption that comes to mind is smoking a joint. Although it is the best known and oldest form of consumption, it is far from the best.

On the one hand, combustion destroys a large part of the active ingredients of the plant, which considerably limits its therapeutic potential. And as if that weren't enough, combustion and smoke damage the lungs.

On the other hand, joints are usually rolled with tobacco, and you already know that tobacco is particularly harmful to health. In short, smoking joints is really not a good idea to consume hemp and today, legal and healthy alternatives exist.

Legality

Smoking CBD flowers is bad for your health, but above all it is illegal. In France, this mode of consumption is prohibited, whether it is a pure joint or with tobacco.

The production, marketing and consumption of CBD flowers is allowed, but there is no question of smoking in the street and provoking law enforcement who, by the way, cannot know if your joint contains THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) or not.

THC is the molecule responsible for the psychoactive effects of hemp. Hemp containing THC is considered an illicit substance. So don't assume that smoking CBD is legal just because CBD is. The nuance is subtle but essential to avoid trouble.

How to consume CBD flowers?

Inhalation

If you are a smoker, it is still possible to vape CBD. To do this, you must have a vaporizer provided for this purpose. CBD flower vaporizers have a temperature regulator that helps prevent combustion.

Thus, the active ingredients and flavors of the plant are preserved. To offer you all the virtues of CBD, the vaporizer will heat the flowers without burning them.

The advantage of vaporization is the rapid absorption of CBD by the body. Once inhaled, the vapor reaches the lungs and passes into the blood within minutes. The relaxing effects are almost immediate.

It is an ideal means of consumption if you need fast and effective relief. However, the relaxing effects are rather short-lived: count between 1 to 3 hours of soothing effects depending on the dosage and the individual.

To use a vaporizer and inhale a healthy smoke, follow these steps:

Finely chop your CBD flowers using a grinder and place them in the tank. Preheat the vaporizer to around 170 degrees. Once the desired temperature has been reached, inhale gently until you obtain a more or less thick vapor. The session lasts approximately 20 minutes. Once finished, let the device cool down and remember to clean it between uses.

Infusion

For non-smokers, the most popular method is CBD flower infusion. Drinking herbal tea with fresh CBD flowers is perfect to preserve the active principles of the plant, but also to enjoy the relaxing effects for several hours.

Indeed, CBD must pass through the digestive tract before reaching the bloodstream. This is why the effects may take time to appear (30 minutes to 1 hour), but they are long-lasting. If you suffer from chronic pain, stress or anxiety, this is a good solution to enjoy the benefits of CBD throughout the day.

Moreover, infusion is one of the oldest means of consumption. Traditionally, cannabis herbal tea has been consumed since the days of Imperial China, more than 2 millennia ago. The advantage is that preparing a CBD flower infusion is just as easy as a classic infusion.

To make an infusion of CBD flowers:

Finely chop the desired amount of CBD flowers and place everything in a tea ball or in a stainless steel infuser. Let your preparation infuse in boiling water for 5 to 10 minutes. Add a fat such as honey, milk or cream to release the active ingredients of CBD. Make yourself comfortable and move on to the tasting.

Cuisine

CBD flowers also have their place in the kitchen. If they can be incorporated into your herbal teas, the same goes for all your drinks and your culinary preparations. The only condition is to heat them beforehand in the oven for about 30 minutes at 100 degrees in order to release the active ingredients. Once heated, CBD flowers can be finely chopped and incorporated into all your sweet or savory recipes.

As with the herbal tea, the relaxing effects occur about 1 hour after consumption because the CBD must pass through the digestive system. On the other hand, these effects can last up to 7 hours thanks to the presence of active ingredients in the digestive system.

Smoothies, milkshakes, cakes, pancakes, brownies... Everything is possible with CBD flowers. If you want to integrate CBD more easily into your daily diet, you can make CBD oil, butter or honey. This way, all you have to do is add your CBD-based fat directly to your next recipes. Let your imagination be free !
