How to make CBD oil?
CBD Cannabis Oil Ingredients, Equipment, and Recipe
The ingredients
To produce 450g of CBD oil, you need:
-
28 g of hemp flowers;
-
450g of oil (vegetable oil such as coconut oil according to your taste).
The equipment
For the production of CBD oil you need:
-
Hob;
-
Double boiler;
-
A knife or grinder;
-
Parchment paper;
-
A glass jar to store the oil;
-
Etamine
The different stages
The production of CBD oil takes place as follows:
Step 1
This first step is to give your hemp flowers a fine consistency. To achieve this, use a grinder or a knife to obtain small, uniform pieces. Hemp flowers with a fine consistency optimize CBD extraction .
Step 2
Next, place a sheet of baking paper on the baking sheet and spread your crushed flowers on it. Your baking sheet can now go into the oven, preheated to 225°F (110°C). Baking should last no more than one hour. During this time, the decarboxylation process begins. As a reminder, this is a process that allows the conversion of CBDA into CBD without loss of terpenes. At the end of this step (out of the oven), the hemp flowers will be crisp and browned.
Step 3
As soon as they're out of the oven, you can extract the CBD from the hemp flowers. To do this, pour your oil over the flowers and let them marinate for 2 to 3 hours. The mixture shouldn't boil. It should only simmer to ensure you get a quality green-brown final product.
Step 4
At this stage, you must remove your mixture and pour it into the jar. It is important to ensure that the jar is clean and tightly sealed. The cheesecloth will act as a filter to separate the oil from the flowers. Discard the flowers once the extraction is complete and store your oil in a cool, dry place.
You've just made CBD oil ready to use. But is this the only way to do it?
Production of CBD oil with alcohol
Instead of using a carrier oil, you can make CBD oil with alcohol. The advantage is that the finished product is stronger and more effective than the previous method.
Ingredients
-
Nearly 100g of waste or 30g of crushed hemp flowers;
-
Strong or edible alcohol.
Materials
-
Stamen ;
-
Grinder;
-
Parchment paper;
-
Salad bowl;
-
Baking paper;
-
Spatula;
-
Funnel;
-
Double boiler;
-
Plastic syringe;
-
Container.
The different stages
Step 1
To begin producing CBD oil with alcohol, you must decarboxylate the hemp flowers. Decarboxylation involves placing the CBD flowers in an oven preheated to 110°C for 1 hour. Grind the plant material to a fine consistency.
Step 2
Once the material is decarboxylated, pour in alcohol to completely submerge it. Use the wooden spatula to stir the mixture for about 10 minutes. The role of the alcohol is to extract the CBD present in the decarboxylated hemp flowers and the terpenes. The mixture allows for a final solution sufficiently loaded with components, including the desired CBD.
Step 3
The third step is separating the alcohol from the plant material. Since alcohol is quite rich in CBD, you simply strain the mixture into the bowl using a cheesecloth. When straining, make sure you get the most out of your flowers. You'll know you're doing it right when your alcohol turns from a dark green to a clear color.
Step 4
After the extraction, you need to set up your bain-marie. If you don't have one, use a saucepan and fill it with water. Add your iron bowl to the pan to make a marinade.
Whether using a double boiler or a saucepan, pour in your alcohol and set the heat to low. Gradually, the alcohol will evaporate, and the mixture will become viscous after a few minutes (15 to 20 minutes). Take every precaution to prevent the alcohol vapor from igniting.
Step 5
Once you have the viscous mixture, you can draw it up with a syringe for storage or use. This gives you a highly concentrated CBD oil.
