CBD and paracetamol: good association?

CBD and marijuana enthusiasts all have the same concern. This one has to do with what to do when using medicine from other sources to treat temporary disorders, illnesses or even chronic problems. This is a major concern because the cannabinoids in marijuana, such as CBD and THC, generally share receptors with other drugs. They can therefore be the cause of important alterations in the metabolism of several drugs. We are interested here in the case of paracetamol. Yes, no worries here. The two substances can be well and truly consumed at the same time because, unlike paracetamol, CBD does not stress the liver.

Let's discover, then, in this article, how paracetamol, a molecule related to anti-inflammatory and painkillers, CBD marijuana, behaves. But before anything else, it is appropriate to discover each of these substances.

PARACETAMOL: WIDESPREAD MEDICINAL SUBSTANCE

In European territory, the name ''Doliprane'' is used most of the time to index those medicines whose main active ingredient is paracetamol. It is a drug with antipyretic and analgesic action and is used to treat fever, headaches, flu and colds.

Although it has a reduced anti-inflammatory action, its use against some minor inflammations is still largely relevant. This may be justified by its reduced toxicity. However, it should not be abused. Indeed, the consumption of a dose of paracetamol between 10 and 15 g per day is fatal. It can cause fulminant hepatitis. The latter will also be accompanied by necrosis of the liver cells in 3 or even 5 days.

Reason for which doctors recommend not exceeding the dose of 2.5 grams, and even more so when one is a regular consumer of alcohol.

Paracetamol intoxication is also harmful to the kidneys, and this, even though among the antipyretics and analgesics, it is among those that have the least impact on this organ. It is recommended to take paracetamol on a full stomach. This is to reduce the impact that it could have on the liver. This precaution should also be taken to reduce the pain and heartburn.

CBD: A SOLUTION TO MANY AILMENTS

CBD has high levels of CBD and low concentrations of Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). This is mainly why it is legal in several countries as well as in Europe. In fact, in these countries, it can be bought and sold without any legal proceedings.

Consuming CBD can have several benefits for the body, considering these many beneficial properties. It is actually a metabolite that affects the CB1 and CB2 neurotransmitters (the former being mainly present in the central nervous system and the latter in the peripheral nervous system). It has important effects.

CBD, therefore, has anti-inflammatory, analgesic, antioxidant, neuroprotective, antidepressant (helps combat psychosis, for example) and anticonvulsant properties.

Also, the active ingredient of CBD has two numerous positive points. It effectively ensures the regulation of blood sugar. It also ensures the regulation of breathing rate and heart rate. CBD indeed can tranquilize stressed and nervous subjects.

WHAT ARE THE INTERACTIONS BETWEEN AND PARACETAMOL?

According to recent studies on CBD, it was found to have properties that would allow it to fight breast cancer. It was then touted as an innovative solution to fight this disease.

However, CBD doesn't only have its positives; it also has its drawbacks. We must not forget that it contains cannabinoids (THC and CBD). These share the same receptors as many drugs. This creates competition with the active ingredients (APs) of these drugs.

THC and CBD have antagonistic actions. That is, they negatively affect the bioavailability of their APs to reduce their effectiveness. That's why it's recommended to seek advice from a doctor when you're on a specific treatment before buying your marijuana.

SO CAN THESE TWO SUBSTANCES BE CONSUMED AT THE SAME TIME?

CBD does not stress the liver in any way. This is obviously not the case with paracetamol. After this observation, we can then say that both substances can be consumed together. They are compatible.

If one wants to consume marijuana and at the same time get treatment, one should be well informed. However, with paracetamol, there is no contraindication as such. Nevertheless, it should be noted that the ailments fought by CBD are also fought by paracetamol. This is why it is generally recommended to consume only CBD if the choice should arise.

It should be noted that CBD is not immediately able to neutralize fever, but its analgesic, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant action nevertheless allows it to cure it. This is even before a slight 10-minute delay compared to paracetamol.

Let us also note that in the treatment of headaches, paracetamol is less effective than CBD. It will not be a burden to either the liver or kidneys. In fact, it has a beneficial action on both the circulatory system and the immune system.

WHAT ABOUT THE RUMORS?

Some rumors have indeed circulated in relation to some people who would have consumed paracetamol to fight against the flu and, at the same time CBD. According to these, the individuals concerned had excessive fatigue and drowsiness. This is one of the effects of CBD, which also appears to be effective against insomnia and sleep disorders.

In general, when experiencing flu-like symptoms, the best thing to do is to go to bed. Granted, CBD doesn't work immediately, but it helps the body have a more optimal response. In addition to curing the flu, it boosts the immune system.
